Desi cow milk and nothing else.
Product Description
Every jar of Ishavasyam Desi Cow Bilona Ghee begins with fresh milk sourced from carefully selected farmers and Desi Gaupalaks across our partners based out in Gujarat, who share our commitment to ethical cattle care and traditional dairy practices. Our milk comes exclusively from indigenous Desi cows, raised with compassion, proper nourishment, and love.
Using the traditional Bilona method, fresh milk is first cultured into curd, then hand-churned to obtain butter, which is slowly simmered into pure golden ghee. This time-honoured process requires patience, craftsmanship, and significantly more milk than conventional methods, making every batch rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying.
Unlike industrial methods that often begin with cream, the Bilona process starts with curd — a slower, more traditional approach that reflects our commitment to authenticity over convenience.
Rather than pursuing volume, we focus on preserving authenticity, creating ghee the way it has been prepared in Indian households for generations.
The Story Behind Our Desi Cow Ghee

We believe that authentic ghee begins long before it reaches the kitchen. It begins with the care we extend to the cows, the values we uphold, and the intention with which every step is carried out.
Our Traditional Desi Cow Bilona Ghee is crafted using the milk of authentic Desi cows, a revered indigenous Indian breed known for producing naturally rich A2 milk. These cows are nurtured by our Desi Gau Paalaks in Gujarat, where they are not simply treated as livestock — they are an integral part of our extended family, not only till the time they give us milk but for life.
We believe that when cows are cared for with patience, compassion, and respect, they naturally produce milk of exceptional quality. Their nutrition, comfort, well-being, and natural lifestyle are at the heart of everything we do.
This philosophy isn't new — it is deeply rooted in India's ancient wisdom. Ayurvedic traditions have long emphasized the importance of the source of our food and the intention behind its creation. At Ishavasyam, we honour this timeless belief by ensuring that every ingredient we use is procured with integrity, mindfulness, and genuine care.
Bilona & A2 — And Beyond
Today, you'll find many varieties of A2 ghee made using the Bilona method. While we deeply respect those traditions, we believe our responsibility goes beyond following a process.
You will find a lot of products labelled "A2 Ghee." But there's an important distinction to understand: A2 refers to a type of beta-casein protein found in milk, not to ghee itself. During the process of making ghee, the milk's water, milk solids, and proteins are largely separated out, leaving behind primarily fat — so technically, calling something "A2 ghee" can be misleading.
A2 protein is also not exclusive to desi cow milk; it is naturally found in the milk of buffaloes, goats and camels. For us, the significance of desi cow ghee goes beyond simply being "A2 ghee." We see it as a traditional, satvik food, rooted in the Indian way of living.
At Ishavasyam, our commitment goes far beyond the A1/A2 label. In addition to caring for our own cows, we work closely with our partner farms and milk suppliers to ensure they uphold the same standards of animal welfare, ethical farming, and quality that we practice ourselves.
Our Promise

Every spoonful of Ishavasyam Desi Cow Bilona Ghee represents more than a product. It represents a commitment to ethical sourcing, traditional craftsmanship, and uncompromising quality.
From the lush pastures of Gujarat to your family's table, our journey is guided by one simple belief: when food is created with purity of intention, care, and authenticity, it naturally becomes something worth sharing.

There is a beautiful saying in ancient wisdom that has stayed with us throughout this journey: "Rinam kritva ghritam pibet" — if you ever have to borrow money to afford pure ghee, borrow it, but don't compromise on the purity of your ghee.
When we started this journey nearly a decade ago, very few people spoke about indigenous Bilona ghee. Today, the conversation has grown, and we feel grateful to have been a small part of reviving that awareness.

At Ishavasyam, we are not simply selling food — we are trying to revive trust: between the farmer and the family, between ancient wisdom and modern living, between nature and nourishment. As founders, we don't aspire to become the largest food company. We aspire to become one of the most trusted.

Pure and healthy
I was fed up of the adulterated ghee available in the market. While looking online for pure ghee I came across this brand and decided to try it myself. Amazon packed the glass bottle so well that it arrived in perfect condition, all well sealed. The taste is truly delicious. Since it's authentic and 100% pure, it can also be used for religious purposes. It's priced a little high, but I don't mind paying for pure ghee instead of adulterated versions. Highly recommend.
Very good
The product was well packaged and delivered on time. A beautiful golden yellow ghee with an even better taste, I have never tasted such a delicious ghee. I just can't stop craving it, I literally eat it by the spoon.
Very valuable and precious ghee, it helped me during my pre and post pregnancy
This is an amazing ghee with great taste and wonderful health benefits. I stay in Singapore and ordered it on Amazon India, it helped me a lot during my pre and post pregnancy. My 2-year-old son has high immunity and I feed him this ghee only. It's expensive, but it's better to invest in health than in health policies.
Must buy
Must buy, I felt the difference after using this. I used to have a chest burning problem, but after taking a spoon daily on an empty stomach, the problem went away completely. I'm writing this review after a year and I'm still fine.
Amazing product!
We have completely switched to this product at home. Really appreciate this recommendation.
Delicious. Sumptuous. Delightful.
Buying it for the second time. Delicious, even my wife, who can't usually have cow ghee, found it wonderfully light and enjoyable.
What a ghee! Excellent, amazing buy
My mother says the aroma, smell, taste and quality are exactly like the ghee she used to eat during her childhood, 40 years back. She also says this ghee never expires, the older it gets the more its medicinal qualities improve. It's so light, I didn't feel any heaviness even after adding four teaspoons to dal. Ghee and milk are among the most adulterated foods in our country, and this is the purest ghee one can ask for. Now a permanent part of our kitchen.
This tells me why it tastes so good and feels light
I've been using this ghee for 6 months and wanted to give it time before writing a review. The company was kind enough to explain their whole process to me, and I'm impressed with the transparency. As a customer I expect to get what I pay for, and this ghee hasn't disappointed me.
It's costly, but worth what I spend on it
Our family really likes this product, I can't think of using any other ghee now. I've consumed 2 kg of it so far, ordering from different sources, and it's consistently the most genuine quality.
Really good and healthy
I've never tasted such a delicious ghee, it's really yummy. I loved the taste, and the whole manufacturing and packing process is impressive. This ghee is so pure and tasty.
Undoubtedly the best ghee
This is undoubtedly the best ghee I've ever tried, not too strong in smell since it's made from curd, but the taste is fantastic. They're one of the few in the dairy industry who let customers visit the farm and see the process of milking cows and making ghee.
Outstanding ghee quality
This ghee seems very pure and made from original A2 cow's milk. You can immediately tell the difference between this and a normal ghee of any other brand. Highly recommend to everyone.
Genuine and tasty ghee
For those complaining that this isn't real, my aunt used to prepare ghee this way using the bilona method, and this ghee tastes and smells just like that. A very genuine product.
One of the best out there in consistency
I really liked this one. Among all the ghees I've tried, this is the most expensive, but it just tastes really good. It isn't grainy at all, and the scent and flavour were exactly right for me.
Once you taste this, you won't go anywhere else
Very nice scent, flavour, texture and quality. Excellent. Other competitors don't come close to this Isha Vasyam A2 ghee.
A little expensive, but worth it
No, it doesn't smell like Dalda, it's real ghee. I came to buy this after Fittuber's recommendation. It stays partly liquid and partly solid at room temperature, which is how real ghee behaves. Yes, the price is high, but it's worth eating healthy.
Best ghee in the world
Purest, tastiest, healthiest, good for nature and for you! Best brand I've come across. I've been using their products for over a year and I'm in love with them. Already recommended to all my friends and family.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between regular ghee and Ishavasyam Desi Cow Bilona Ghee?
The difference begins at the source. Ishavasyam Desi Cow Ghee is crafted using milk from indigenous Desi cows that are ethically cared for by our farmers and Desi Gaupalaks in Gujarat. Unlike conventional ghee, we follow the traditional Bilona method — fresh milk is first converted into curd, then hand-churned into butter before being slowly simmered into ghee.
What is Desi Cow A2 Ghee?
Desi Cow A2 Ghee is prepared from the milk of indigenous Indian cow breeds, such as Desi cows, which naturally produce milk rich in A2 protein. At Ishavasyam, we source our milk only from carefully selected farmers and Desi Gaupalaks who share our philosophy of ethical cattle care and traditional dairy practices before converting it into ghee.
Why is Ishavasyam Ghee more expensive?
Authenticity takes time. It takes over 30–35 litres of fresh Desi Cow A2 milk to produce approximately 1 litre of ghee, and the entire process involves culturing milk into curd, hand-churning butter, and slow-cooking it into ghee. Unlike industrial production, our process is labour-intensive and relies on skilled craftsmanship, traditional utensils, ethical sourcing, and strict quality standards.
What makes Ishavasyam Ghee different from other ghee available in the market?
Our difference lies in our philosophy rather than just our process. We believe exceptional ghee begins with healthy indigenous cows, responsible farmers and Desi Gaupalaks, and honest sourcing. Every batch is prepared using the traditional Bilona method with an uncompromising focus on quality, transparency, and preserving India's rich dairy traditions.
What is the shelf life of your ghee?
Our A2 Bilona Ghee has a shelf life of 24 months when stored at room temperature in a dry place with the lid tightly closed. Always use a clean, dry spoon while handling the product to maintain its freshness and quality.
Does the ghee come in glass jars?
Yes, we package our Bilona Ghee in premium food-grade glass jars that help preserve its aroma, flavour, and quality while reducing the use of plastic. Glass also keeps the product free from unwanted odours and is fully recyclable.
Is your ghee similar to every other "A2" ghee available in the market?
Many brands today offer A2 ghee. At Ishavasyam, however, our responsibility goes beyond the Bilona process — we work closely with our farmers and Desi Gaupalaks to ensure ethical cattle care, careful milk sourcing, and consistent quality standards.
Does A2 Cow Milk Ghee offer any additional benefits, or is it just a marketing trend?
For generations, indigenous cow ghee has been valued in Indian households and Ayurvedic traditions as an important part of everyday nutrition. Our focus remains on delivering traditionally prepared Bilona ghee made from ethically sourced A2 milk using time-honoured methods rather than following marketing trends.
How should I use this ghee?
Ishavasyam Desi Cow Bilona Ghee can be enjoyed in many ways — add it over dal, rice, rotis, or vegetables, use it while cooking, or blend a spoon into warm milk or your preferred beverage. Many families also use ghee externally as part of traditional self-care practices.
Are there any delivery charges?
Delivery charges may vary depending on your order value and delivery location. Any applicable shipping charges will always be displayed clearly during checkout before you complete your purchase.
How do you maintain quality while serving customers across India?
Scaling responsibly has always been one of our core principles. We carefully expand our network by working only with trusted farmers, Desi Gaupalaks and producer communities who meet our sourcing standards, and every batch undergoes strict quality checks before it reaches your home.
